The Windshifter, also known as Pneumatic Concentrator, Waste Air Sorting Machine, garbage air sorting machine, wind screening equipment, airflow specific gravity sorting machine, air classifier and air drum separator, is a high-efficiency density sorting device core to municipal solid waste disposal (MSW) and waste treatment and recycling lines. It separates materials based on aerodynamic properties (density and particle size) using controllable positive and negative pressure airflow, seamlessly integrating with Conveyor Belt, Plate Feeder, Vibrating Feeder and other waste sorting equipment such as rotary trommel screen, Ballistic Separator, Magnetic Separator to improve sorting efficiency and purity, and perfectly matching waste shredder machine and Waste Baler in the whole waste processing line.
Composed of centrifugal fan, rotating separation drum, belt conveyor, light substance settling chamber, electrical cabinet and integrated dust filtration system, this equipment adopts industry-leading negative pressure technology and can be configured as semi-mobile or stationary, with a wear-resistant design for abrasive materials. It is easy to operate, with feeding conveyor adopting frequency conversion control, and can be connected with Waste Feeder, Apron Feeders and Municipal solid waste feeding system to adjust feeding speed according to air volume, wind speed and air pressure, adapting to mixed waste and stale garbage sorting needs.
Working Principle: Mixed materials, after preliminary processing by Double-Shaft Shredder or Plastic Shredder Machine, are fed into the separator (via Conveyor Belt or Waste plate feeder), and under the combined action of airflow and rotating drum, lighter materials (paper, plastic bags, films, cloth strips processed by textile shredder machine) are carried by the airflow to the settling chamber or distant discharge belt; heavier materials (metals separable by Eddy Current Separator, stones, glass, ceramics) fall naturally due to gravity or inertia to the heavy material discharge belt. The fan speed and dampers are adjustable to optimize sorting efficiency and purity, and the exhaust duct connects to a dust removal and deodorization system to meet emission standards, supporting the operation of waste sorting machine and garbage separation machine.
