The Ballistic Separator (Bouncing Screen), also known as 3D Sorter and waste sorting bouncing screen, is a high-efficiency mechanical sorting device core to municipal solid waste disposal (MSW) and waste recycling lines. It leverages material density, shape and size to sort mixed waste seamlessly with Conveyor Belt, Waste Feeder, Vibrating Feeder, Plate Feeder, Apron Feeders and Municipal solid waste feeding system, laying a foundation for efficient resource recovery.
Fed by Vibrating Feeder or other feeding equipment, the equipment drives the screen deck/paddles via eccentric shaft and orbital paddle motion, creating up-down, back-forth shaking and ballistic movement. This classifies materials into three fractions: heavy rolling 3D materials (plastic bottles, wood, cans, bricks), light flat 2D materials (film, paper, cardboard) and undersize fine materials (sand, food residues, soil). Ideal for separating inorganic particles from coarsely crushed waste, it pairs perfectly with Double-Shaft Shredder, Plastic Shredder Machine, Wood Pallet Shredder and other waste shredder machine equipment.
Core Parameters
Production Capacity: 5–120 m³/h (adjustable by material type and feeding speed)
Feed Size: Suitable for 3D/2D materials and post-coarse-crushing waste
Power: 5.5–22kw
Core Components: Crankshaft maintenance access, centralized lubrication system, large-clearance thin-oil bearings, stainless steel screen deck。
Key Advantages
High Sorting Efficiency: Effective separation of 2D/3D materials and fine fractions, reducing manual intervention significantly.
Durable & Low Maintenance: Stainless steel components, interchangeable parts and centralized lubrication ensure long service life, low noise and easy upkeep.
Flexible Adaptability: Adjustable installation angle and variable frequency speed suit MSW, construction waste (C&D), aged waste and single-stream recycling; compatible with diverse waste streams.
Seamless Integration: Connects with rotary trommel screen, waste sorting trommel screen, Trommel Screen, waste sorting machine, Magnetic Separator, Air Separator, Bag Opener and horizontal baler machine to form automated sorting lines.‘
Applicable Scenarios
Widely used in recycling plants, MSW management facilities, composting projects and C&D waste sorting lines. It removes non-compostable contaminants, recovers recyclables, reduces landfill waste and is indispensable to modern waste recycling systems.
